Shopping – Fashion, Homewares & Country Markets
At the heart of Berry is a diverse and tempting shopping hub. From contemporary sculpture and art at Precinct Galleries, beautifully selected objects, homewares and clothing at Moss Nest, Cabana Jo’s and Juniper Hearth and ethical fashion at Long Weekend Store, to the allure of fresh flowers at Shady Fig. It is definitely worth wandering the little streets off the main shopping strip to discover more.
The first Sunday of every month welcomes the buzz of the Berry Markets – a must-visit country market. Here you can browse local handmade arts and crafts, fresh fruit & vegetables, locally cooked food and other curiosities. For a more intimate market experience, on the second Saturday and fourth Sunday of every month you’ll find the Berry Produce Market, where you can pick up locally made jams, honey and cupcakes, fresh fruit, vegies and eggs as well as plants and even handmade soaps.
There are several beauty salons in Berry with some offering in-home
treatments. Whether you’re a bride-to-be or just looking for a pamper day
in the privacy of your very-own tranquil hide-away we can
recommend a therapist to suit your needs.
When you need a break from shopping in Berry there are many foodie temptations. From handmade chocolates at The Berry Chocolatier, an amazing tea menu at The Berry Tea Shop (their scones and jam are a must) to Milkwood Bakery for its artisan bread and pastries or a rustic lunch and Il Locale Gelato cafe for a locally produced gelato and some of the best coffee in the Shoalhaven.
Just a short drive outside of town will take you to The Blue Swimmer restaurant at Gerroa or Far Meadow for a unique rustic restaurant experience or cooking workshop at Far Meadow Table.
Explore the local surroundings by foot or car at your leisure.
There are many local walks but the stunning Drawing Room Rocks is a 4.5 km hike into the Barren Grounds Nature Reserve on the outskirts of Berry. Although it is an uphill climb the rewards are breathtaking and leave you with a clear vision of where Berry sits in the landscape.
Within the Berry township there is an informative Heritage walk put together by the Berry Museum. The easy walk takes in many of the historical buildings and points of interest throughout Berry and gives you a good idea of Berry’s history.
If you want to step closer to the ocean you’ll find the beautiful Seven Mile Beach National Park literally minutes out of Berry. Seven miles of unspoiled coastline where you can watch the Sea Eagles swoop to catch a salmon or glimpse the rare nesting birds at Shoalhaven Heads river mouth. Further afield you’ll find the breathtaking Gerringong to Kiama coastal walk where, between June and November, you can watch the whales migrate.
You have created a haven here!
The house and grounds are beautiful and the
touches are such a luxury to a mum who has very little time for herself.
I fell cocooned and pampered on every level and totally at peace with myself.
Thank you for creating such a wonderful getaway from the responsibilities of life.
